In memory of Michaela DePrince

Portrait was created for Michaela DePrince, a solo built around the strength and vulnerability of an extraordinary artist whose life and career were marked by remarkable courage. Working with her remains one of the privileges of my career.

The piece placed her, simply dressed, between two light stands as if in a photographer's studio, a quiet nod to a life so often lived in the spotlight, and to the resilience underneath it.
